Clear Mind

Journal your way to a clearer mind. Journalling is something I have spoken about a few times in my monthly blog, and the reason being is that is has been so helpful! Getting the internal dialogue out of your mind and onto paper (or on the notes page on your phone) can really help to calm your mind and allow thoughts to go on their merry way. Have you ever been mulling over an interaction? or worried about an upcoming occasion? had an argument in your head? or just need to have a rant? I think that covers most of us! Write it down! Get it out of your head, release the emotions surrounding the thoughts and I promise you will feel calmer, have a better night sleep and the thoughts will soon vanish!

Get Started

There are many things we are told to do everyday to improve our health, wellbeing and quality for life. Looking at these things all at once can be overwhelming and ends in no new healthy habits! It has been proven that you need to do something consistently for a minimum of 66 days for it to become a habit. The Good news is there are many things in our world today that can help us stick to these healthy habits and make them manageable. The 4 habits below are things that will benefit your mood, energy levels and overall wellbeing. Trust me I have tried them all! So, I welcome you to pick one thing from the list to focus on for just 1 week and see how you get on:

  • Drinking 2 litres of water a day. Let’s make it manageable: Fill up a 2 litre bottle and keep it with you throughout the day, this acts as a visual reminder to drink more. Being able to see how much (or how little) you are drinking will definitely help encourage you to get the water intake that your body needs.
  • Going to bed at the same time every night and waking up at the same time every morning. This gives your body clock a well needed reset, allows you to get more sleep and you will wake more refreshed. Making it manageable: Set a bedtime alert on your phone so you know when it’s time to start winding down. Keep your alarm on at the weekends (I know, I know but trust me it works!!).
I did this religiously and really noticed the different in my energy, mood and productively.
  • Reading before bed. It’s easy to get stuck in a bad bedtime routine that’s not doing you any favours. Taking some time to read gives you a break from the screens and helps your parasympathetic nervous system. Making it manageable: Aim to read 4 pages a night. That’s all.
  • Stretch everyday. Movement is vital for our physical health, stretching not only makes us feel more energised, it can also help prevent injuries and improves blood flow. Make it manageable: Set your alarm just 10 minutes earlier than usual, and use this time to gently move, stretch and breath. What a great start to the day!.
